The Mirror, Vol. 11, No. 498
“Takhmao: Samdech Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, asked South Korea to keep leading in five sectors in Cambodia.
“The Prime Minister granted Mr. Kim Kwan-Yong, the Governor of the Province of Gyeongsangbukdo in the Republic of Korea an audience in his villa in Takhmao, in the evening of 5 March. Samdech Hun Sen said that Korea is leading in five sectors in Cambodia: 1. Investment, 2. Tourism, 3. Culture, 4 Information Technology, and 5. Human Resources Development.
“Mr. Eang Sophaleth, an assistant to Samdech Hun Sen, told reporters that Samdech Hun Sen requested South Korea to continue to help Cambodia through these leading five sectors, so that the Republic of Korea can continue to be leading in these five sectors.
“Mr. Kim Kwan-Yong informed Samdech Hun Sen of the purpose to come to Cambodia at this time, in order to build two cultural centers in Cambodia, one of which will be built in Siem Reap, and the other in Phnom Penh; and he also would like to invite Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen and Lady Bun Rany to participate in the Gyeongju World Culture Exhibition in the Republic of Korea in September 2007.
“Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen supported Mr. Kim Kwan-Yong’s decision to establish two cultural centers in Cambodia. Samdech Hun Sen said that one of the two cultural centers would be built in the place where the Angkor-Gyeongju World Culture Expo 2006 had been held in Siem Reap [co-hosted by the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Republic of Korea] from 21 November 2006 to 9 January 2007]. But in Phnom Penh, the Ministry of Culture has so far been looking for a location for constructing the other cultural building.
“Samdech Hun Sen accepted Mr. Kim Kwan-Yong”s invitation and stated that he would find an appropriate time to participate in the Gyeongju World Culture Exhibition of the Republic of Korea.” Rasmei Kampuchea, Vol.15, #4229, 7.3.2007
