Cambodian National Holidays
The following public holidays will be observed by the Cambodian public service in 2008 :
- 1st January – International New Year’s Day
- 7th January – Victory Day over Genocide Regime
- 8th March – International Women’s Day
- 13th, 14th & 15th April – Cambodian New Year
- 1st May – International Labor Day
- 13th, 14th & 15th May – Royal Birthday of H.M Preach Bat Somdech Preach Baromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia
- 19th May – Visakh Bochea Day
- 23rd May – Royal Ploughing Ceremony
- 18th June – Royal Birthday of H.M Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk
- 24th September – Constitution Day
- 28th, 29th, 30th September – Pchum Ben Festival
- 29th October – Royal Coronation of H.M Preah Bat Samdech Preah Baromneath Norodom Sihamoni
- 31st October – Royal Birthday of H.M King Father Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia
- 9th November – Independence Day
- 11th, 12th, 13th November – Water Festival, Moon Festival
- 10th December – International Human Rights Day
*Note: Any public holidays that fall on a Saturday or/and on a Sunday will be carried over to the next working day.
There are two additions necessary:
- Though this list is published about “public holidays [that] will be observed by the Cambodian public service” the same holidays are also observed by many non-government organizations, while the members of the general business community make their own choices.
- The Mirror is published within the activities of the Open Institute, following also the holiday arrangements as stated above.
As a consequence, we will have only new material on Tuesday, 11.3.2008.
